Brief – This spacious guest bedroom in a Christchurch new build was functional but lacked the inviting warmth and character the homeowners desired. The challenge was to transform the space while retaining the bespoke, handmade window furnishings already in place.
Design – To bring this room to life, a feature wall with stylish panelling was added behind the bed. This instantly became the focal point of the room, creating depth and visual interest. The soft, neutral colour palette was carefully chosen to complement the existing window dressings, allowing them to shine as the statement piece of the space.
Nature-inspired touches, including a bamboo lampshade and hanging plant, added texture and a calming vibe, while framed artwork tied the elements together for a harmonious finish. The result? A perfectly balanced, welcoming guest bedroom that feels both modern and timeless.
