Kitchens are often the heart of the home.
They are where everyone gravitates.
Whether it is to make a comforting cup of tea, to pour an ice cold glass of wine, help the kids with their homework, or to simply make the next delicious meal, they have many functions.
They could therefore benefit from a soothing colour palette to keep things looking uncluttered (or at least create the illusion of!) but then on the other hand warmer shades create a sense of comfort. So which should you choose?
Well the good news both are set to trend this next year.
Warm earthy tones such as browns and reds offer a cosy alternative to the brighter blues and greens favoured over the last few years.
If you would rather a more vibrant space bring in some age-old colours and patterns. Herringbone patterns and painted shiplap bring in a touch of the vintage look and work well with navy blues, browns and burgundy.
The bright white kitchens, popular over the last few years, are set to decline in popularity. But all is not lost because a few cans of paint can allow for the perfect quick update to your white cupboards.
There is also the suggestion that lively reds will feature this year. Adding a spicy red to a wall of dark kitchen units or pops of red in the pendant lampshades or kitchen chairs will really add a ‘grown up’ feel to the right kitchen.
Those grounding greens and neutrals inspired by the outdoors will continue to be popular in 2023, as people still look for comfort and respite in the heart of their home. With light white wood as the backdrop deep nature-inspired shades, such as olive greens, are really gaining popularity.
Is 2023 the year of updating your kitchen? Will you be influenced by the trends?
