This month I thought I would look at this beautiful shade and look at how you can use it in your home.
Olive green is predominantly a yellow shade of green with a little black and a hint of green. Therefore it works well on window frames, garden rooms and conservatories, basically and rooms that lead to a green outlook, as it draws your sight outside.
The colour also works well in bedrooms where it can work to create a serene atmosphere or in east facing rooms where the space has a natural green/blue undertone.
To create a sophisticated look with this colour pair it with contrasting black and white to give a crisp look. For a modern slant pair it with brassy accents. And if you want to go bold team it with pink, which lays opposite on the colour wheel.
Paler olive colours work well with soft greys because of their grey undertone. For a harmonious scheme keep to a tonal colour palette on the walls and woodwork.
Is olive green for you?
